          Geoffrey de Vinsauf, fl. 1200, Poetria Nova. Northern Italy; ca.
     1400. Paper, with watermark similar to Bricquet 4001 (Venice, 1401) and
     4002 (Bergame, 1402); ii + 43 + ii ff.; 283 x 212 mm.; 1 column, 26
     lines.

          I (12), II-IV (8), IV (6, +7). Catchwords at the end of each
     quire, in the center of the bottom of each page.

          Gothic bookhand, several different scribes. On f. 1r is a large
     initial P, with pink, red, blue, green, and white, characteristic of
     late fourteenth or early fifteenth century Northern Italian initials.
     On f. 43r are two heads, one of a bishop. The initials heading sections
     are rubricated. Modern quarter-calf binding.

          At the end are the inscriptions, "Liber guidini et jacobi de
     piasiis," and "Liber elisey de piasiis; Puluis ut inuentum sic desunt
     septra potentum."

          Comments: This manuscript places lines 2081-98 of the printed
     text, a section missing from many poems, at the end (after line 2116).
