Various cursive and chancery scripts. Many family crests are
illustrated within pedigrees. Bound in limp vellum.
Bought from Myers and Co. (Lot #371) in March 1952. Bequest of
James M. Osborn, 1976.
Comments: The section of proclamations contains the earliest
public reference to Sir Humphrey Gilbert, step-brother of Sir Walter
Raleigh, and famous navigator, whose name appears twice (37r, 42r) in
the list of captains fightings against Catholics at the siege of Le
Havre.
