Cursive bookscript. Bound in black morocco, red spine, gilt.
On folio 54v is an inscription which says that this manuscript was
found by Edward Crowch "amongst sundry auncient writings and
manuscripts in the Custody of Robert Ware, Esq. son of Sir James Ware,
Knt, deceased, his Majesties Late Auditor General of Ireland," March
11, 1680. Bookplate of Sir Alexander de Luders, Sac. Rom. Imp. Nobilis
Eques (d. 1819). On the flyleaf is recorded "Bought out of the Earl of
Shaftesbury's Sale at Bath, Jan. 7, 1817. Bequest of James M. Osborn,
Comments: A later hand notes at the head of each chapter
references to D'Ewes' "Journal."
