corpus christi spiritualis alimonia pertinens potius ad interiorem
[repeated from art. 20?].
The antiphon is written in a script of French aspect slightly
distinct from those of the main manuscript. According to K. D. Hartzell
the musical notation is probably the work of the text scribe. It has
been proficiently entered in campo aperto with a minimum of diastematy.
Parchment (thick, furry), ff. iii (paper) + 23 + iii (paper), 154
x 108 (132 x 75) mm. Written in 33 long lines; double vertical and
horizontal bounding lines, full across. Ruled in hard point; remains of
prickings in upper and outer margins.
I^^8 (-7), II-III^^8. Signed with Roman numerals in center of lower
margin, on recto.
Written by several scribes, perhaps at different times, in early
gothic bookhand.
Plain initials in red or green (spaces left for others), followed
by rustic capitals. Heading, in red, on f. 1r. Simple schematic
drawings to explicate the text of art. 20 (ff. 21r, 22r).
Some loss of text due to trimming on f. 23v.
Binding: s. xix. Brown goatskin, blind- and gold-tooled.
Written in England in the second half of the twelfth century;
early provenance unknown. Inscriptions as follow, s. xvii: (f. 2v)

Unidentified notice from sale catalogue indicates that it was part of
the collection of Guglielmo Libri (1802-69); we have been unable to
verify this. Belonged to Thomas B. Strong, Vice Chancellor of Oxford
(signature and date 1897 on f. i verso). Signature of Frederick Fox
Bartrop with date 1937 (f. i verso). Bought from H. P. Kraus in 1947 by
Thomas E. Marston who presented to Yale in 1951.
