Marginal and interlinear notes accompany the text of each letter
(except for that to P. Vatinius appearing on ff. 26v-27v which was
copied twice, apparently in error).
Paper (sturdy; watermarks: unidentified letter P in gutter), ff. i
(paper) + 32 + i (paper), 214 x 149 (162 x 95) mm. Written in ca. 20
long lines; frame-ruled in lead, often with no horizontal bounding
lines.
I-II^^12, III^^8. Catchword (f. 24v) in gutter.
Written by a single scribe in gothic cursive, with a smaller
script for glosses.
Simple initials in red at the beginning of each letter; titles
preceded by paragraph marks, and underlined, in red.
Binding: s. xix-xx. Vellum case; spine fragile and splitting.
Written in Germany in the second half of the 15th century,
probably for use as a school text (vocabulary lists on ff. 4 and 9).
Unidentified no. "39906" on back cover, in ink; note inside front
cover, in French, gives brief description of volume. Bought from
Stonehill's by Henry Fletcher who presented it to Yale in 1946.
