Constantini Lascaris graece et latine cum tabula Cebetis...M. Antonii
Flaminii/ si [?] bene memini explanatio in Psalmos. Italicisque sic se
habet suprascriptus Catalogus.
The catalogue consists of four sections: Libri graeci, Alii libri
graeci, Libri latini, Italici libri; it was unknown to A. A. Renouard,
Annales de l'imprimerie des Alde (Paris, 1834) pp. 329-45.
Paper (sturdy, brown; watermarks: unidentified coat of arms in
gutter), ff. iv stubs + 4 + ix stubs, 323 x 102 mm. No writing area
delineated.
A single quire written in humanistic cursive by one scribe.
All folios are stained, damaged, and/or repaired.
Binding: 1850. Bound by George Bretherton in quarter red-brown
leather with blue-black cloth sides.
Written in Italy in 1534 [?]; the date 1541 in one entry appears to
be a later addition; early provenance unknown. The manuscript was in
England as early as 1850 when it was bound by Bretherton (label inside
front cover). Acquired by Sir Thomas Phillipps ca. 1860 (no. 15644:
signature on f. 4v and tag on spine); his sale (London, 1899, no. 13)
to J. E. Hodgkin; his sale (London, 12 May 1914, no. 26) to Tregaskis.
Sold in 1934 by Stonehill's to Thomas E. Marston, who presented it to
Yale in 1935.
