Antiphonal(fragment)
The fragment contains the responsories and antiphons for the
octave of Epiphany (one bifolium with continuous text).
Parchment, ff. 2 (paginated in red: cxlvii-cl), 550 x 336 (377 x
265) mm. Written in 9 lines of text with musical notation. Ruled in
lead, double vertical bounding lines; no prickings, but there are
marks, in lead, for guidelines.
Written in round gothic script.
Four red staves with black square notes; crude initials in red.
Written in Italy in the 16th century; early provenance unknown.
Gift of James Hillhouse in 1932.
