1. f. 1r Invitatories and the hymn Nocte surgentes for Sundays.
2. ff. 1v-120v, 185r-196v, 121r-172v Liturgical psalter with
invitatories, antiphons, versicles and hymns.
3. ff. 172v-184v, 197r-199v Hymns for Matins for the temporale
(Advent through Corpus Christi), the sanctorale (John the Baptist,
Peter and Paul, Mary Magdalen, Lawrence, Augustine, Michael archangel,
All Saints), the dedication of a church and the common of saints
(apostle, one martyr, many martyrs, one confessor, one virgin, one
virgin not martyr, many virgins).
Paper (watermarks similar to Briquet Lettre P 8598), ff. 199 + i
(contemporary paper). The codex was bound incorrectly; ff. 185-196
should follow f. 120. 152 x 107 (104 x 70) mm. Written in 15 long
lines; single vertical bounding lines, double horizontal lines, full
across. Ruled in ink; prickings visible in lower and outer margins.
I-XIV^^12, XV^^16, XVI^^12 (+ 1 leaf at end), XVII^^2. Catchwords located
along bottom of folio near binding.
Written by a single scribe in bold gothic textura.
Initials, 3- to 1-line, at beginning of each verse, in red;
rubrics throughout.
Most leaves are stained and repaired.
Covers and spine missing.
Written probably in Western Germany in the second half of the 15th
century; early provenance unknown. Purchased by Yale with the Ann S.
Farnam Fund in 1909.
