Constitution for the dinghof or colonge of Ingersheim in Alsace,
consisting of 16 articles. A later French translation of this text
is edited by M. L'Abbe Hanauer, Les constitutions des campagnes de
l'Alsace au moyen-age (Paris-Strasbourg, 1865) pp. 349-54. It is
possible that some text has been lost at the beginning.
Parchment roll consisting of 2 irregularly trimmed membranes stitched
together, the whole measuring 1250 x 155 (widest part)-118 (narrowest
part) mm. Written in neat gothic hand by a single scribe who placed a
paragraph mark before each article. Roll shows considerable use. Boxed.
Written in Alsace probably in the 13th century; provenance unknown.
Purchased in 1958 from Roux-Devillas, Paris, by L. C. Witten (inv. no. 2125),
who sold it in 1959 to Thomas E. Marston.
